The number of 95 million tonnes for the 2014/15 soybean crop of soybeans in Brazil will not be confirmed. For the market consultant Fernando Muraro, the AgRural, losses are already 4 to 5 million tons, lost to the high temperatures and lack of rainfall in major producing regions. Winter Wheat Conditions Decline
Kansas winter wheat conditions dropped significantly in the monthly state NASS report yesterday, coming in at 35% good/excellent, down from 65% g/ex in November—the state accounts for 21% of U.S. winter wheat plantings for 2014. Oklahoma came in at 36% g/ex, down from 73% in Nov, with Nebraska at 46%% vs 72% previously, and Texas at 19% vs 37% in November.

Informa Brazil & Argentina Production Update

Informa released an updated Brazil corn production estimate at 66.55 million tons, down 1 million ton from previous estimate and 3.45 million tons below the USDA's current estimate. Argentine corn production was seen at 22.6 million tons, down 2.4 million tons from previous estimate, and 2.4 million tons below the current USDA estimate.

Informa Updates U.S. Plantings Estimates

Informa pegged 2014 corn acreage at 93.3 million acres, up 1.5 million from their December estimate but 2.05 million acres below the 2013 corn acreage. Informa pegged 2014 soybean acreage at 81.26 million, down 550,000 acres from their December estimate but 4.73 million acres above the 2013 bean acreage.
